Addicted to Travel is an intelligent, collaborative travel-planning workspace. You can use it to create and edit itineraries, save ideas, express travel preferences, collaborate with other travelers, and receive AI-assisted planning suggestions. Addicted to Travel does not currently make or manage travel bookings.

This policy applies to the Addicted to Travel website and current web product. It does not apply to third-party websites, map services, place-information services, or other external services that have their own privacy policies.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, authentication information, and account settings. We also process information needed to keep your account secure and help you access saved trips.

Guest information

You may begin creating a trip without an account. We use a guest session or similar technical identifier so your trip can function before you register and, where available, be transferred to your account later.

Guest access may be less durable than account access. Clearing browser data, losing access to the same browser or device, or the end of a guest session may make a guest trip unavailable or impossible to recover. Creating an account makes it easier to save and access trips, but it does not guarantee that data can never be lost.

Trip and itinerary information

We collect the information you and your collaborators add to a trip, including destinations, dates, natural-language trip descriptions, activities, Activity Details, Saved Ideas, schedules, priorities, notes, and other itinerary content.

You may mark an activity as Booked. This records your planning status in the itinerary. It does not mean that Addicted to Travel made, verified, or manages the booking.

Traveler Preferences

We collect information you provide to personalize a trip, such as interests, pace, budget context, transportation preferences, accessibility considerations, dietary preferences, activities you want to do or would rather skip, and other priorities or constraints.

Some preferences or free-text entries may reveal sensitive information, such as information about health, disability, religion, or relationships. Share only what is useful for the trip and what you are comfortable sharing with authorized travelers in that trip.

Collaboration and attendance information

For collaborative trips, we process information such as trip membership and organizer status; invitation-link use; permissions such as Can contribute and Can edit; Who’s going and activity attendance; Traveler Preferences associated with the trip; and actions taken by collaborators, such as adding, editing, moving, or removing activities.

AI interactions

We process the trip information, prompts, preferences, itinerary content, and feedback needed to generate a First Draft, recommendations, WHY explanations, trade-off information, and Trip Check results.

AI-generated information does not automatically change your itinerary unless you deliberately choose an available action. You remain in control of what is added, edited, scheduled, or removed.

Technical and usage information

When you use Addicted to Travel, we may collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, session identifiers, timestamps, pages or features used, errors, performance information, and security events.

We may use limited analytics and technical telemetry to understand how the service is used, maintain reliability, diagnose problems, and improve the product.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for functions such as guest continuity, authentication, security, preferences, and limited analytics where used. Our Cookie Policy explains these technologies and the choices available to you.

Messages and feedback

If you contact us, report a problem, or provide feedback, we collect the information in your message and any details needed to respond.

We use personal information to:

• create and maintain guest trips and registered accounts;
• generate, save, display, and edit itineraries and Saved Ideas;
• provide AI-assisted First Drafts, recommendations, WHY explanations, trade-off information, and Trip Check results;
• enable invitation links, trip membership, permissions, attendance, and collaboration;
• provide maps, place information, and related planning features;
• authenticate users, protect accounts, prevent abuse, and secure the service;
• troubleshoot errors, monitor performance, and improve the product;
• respond to questions, support requests, and privacy requests;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use; and
• protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, Addicted to Travel, and others.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on the need to provide the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and improving a secure travel-planning product, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Addicted to Travel uses AI and other automated systems to create and review travel-planning information. These systems may use your trip context and preferences to produce suggestions and explanations.

The AI advises; you decide. Addicted to Travel does not use these planning features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Information added to a collaborative trip may be visible to the organizer and other travelers authorized to access that trip. This may include itinerary content, Traveler Preferences intended for the trip, Who’s going and attendance, priorities, and actions contributed by collaborators.

A person with a valid shareable invitation link may be able to join a trip according to that link’s permissions. Protect invitation links and share them only with people you intend to invite.

Removing someone’s access stops future authorized access through Addicted to Travel, but it cannot retrieve information that person already copied, exported, or remembered.

We may share personal information:

• with organizers, travelers, and collaborators according to trip membership and permissions;
• with service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, maintain, analyze, or support Addicted to Travel, generate AI-assisted output, or provide maps and place information;
• with professional advisers, authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse, protect people, or establish and defend legal claims;
• in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, insolvency, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and any legally required notice; and
• when you direct us to share information or give us permission.

We do not sell personal information for money or use personal information for targeted advertising.

Addicted to Travel may display maps, place information, opening hours, locations, links, and other information supplied by third parties. When you use these features, the relevant provider may receive information needed to provide the requested content, such as a search query, selected location, IP address, or device information.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Information from these services may change or be incomplete.

We and our service providers may process personal information in countries other than the country where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure Addicted to Travel, maintain accounts and trips, meet the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention depends on the type of information and why we hold it. For example, account and saved-trip information may be needed while an account or trip remains active, while security records may be kept for a period needed to detect and investigate abuse. We may keep information longer when required by law or when it is subject to a legal hold. Backup copies may remain until they are overwritten through the normal backup cycle.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or take reasonable steps to de-identify it.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information in light of its nature and the risks involved. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, devices, and invitation links. Contact us if you believe someone has accessed your account or a trip without permission.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• access personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate information;
• request deletion of personal information;
• receive a copy of certain information;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
• complain to a privacy or data-protection authority.

These rights may be subject to legal limits and exceptions. To make a request, contact support@addictedto.travel. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request.

You can also manage certain information directly through your account and trip settings where those controls are available.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting support@addictedto.travel.

Deleting your account may not delete information that remains necessary for a collaborative trip used by other travelers. For example, itinerary content you contributed or a record of an action may remain so the shared trip continues to make sense. Where appropriate, we may remove or reduce the connection between that information and your identity.

We may also retain limited information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service and its users, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or demonstrate that we handled a request. Deleted information may remain in protected backups until those backups are overwritten through the normal cycle.

Guest users may have fewer ways for us to identify or locate guest data. Clearing browser data may remove local access to a guest trip but may not delete any information stored by Addicted to Travel. Contact support@addictedto.travel if you want help with a guest-data request.

Addicted to Travel is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support@addictedto.travel.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Addicted to Travel, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy and provide additional notice when required by law.
